The primary function of the Commonwealth Fencing Federation is to encourage the development of Fencing within Commonwealth countries and territories. Membership is open to national governing bodies of fencing in Commonwealth countries and territories.
Championships
One of the CFF's key roles is to arrange for the regular staging of Commonwealth Fencing Championships. After issuing a formal call for bids to host a Championship, the CFF awards the event to a selected host nation.
Actual organisation of each event is managed by the host nation in conjunction with the CFF.
Administration
In addition to overseeing the Championships, the CFF has a number of broader goals and objectives, which are outlined in its Constitution.
The CFF members meet formally in conjunction with the Senior Championships, and on other occasions as required. In between events the Board manages the day to day running of the CFF.
